2010 Lotus Exige
The Lotus exige is a well-known "high performance sports car" that has established itself as an elite choice for drivers who require performance that is top notch on the open freeways and certainly on the track. Lotus has for the most part sought efficiency as well as fuel economy and for the 2010 model year Lotus Exige S; Lotus has decreased the emissions output to just 199 g/km co2 and raised the fuel efficiency to an eyebrow raising 8.5 litres/100 km on the official european combined cycle and a frugal 6.5 litres/100 km on the official european extra urban cycle.
The 2010 Exige model also brings out the introduction of some important modificaitons to enhance the appearance and upgrade its aerodynamic performance. A restyled front end and new larger, rear wing does not just decrease drag, but it also provides a better muscular position improving the lightweight shrink-wrapped features of the coupe. The rear wing composite is derived from the Exige GT3 road car design concept featured at the 2007 Geneva motorshow. It differs from the 2009 Exige's tailgate mounted wing as it is 181mm wider and secured 46mm higher and another 61mm more in the rear. The stiffness of the whole body is increased due to the bodyshell in the back from back-end plates. In addition, it ensures that the maximum airflow allowed goes through the rear wing. As a result of this airflow management detail it makes the ride even more stable, decreases drag and, more importantly, has an extraordinary downforce statistics of 42kg at 160 km/h.
The redeisgned front end contains a bigger, more skewed air intake below to assist in permiting more air through the radiator, to improve the engine's efficiency. There are two larger air intakes in front of the front wheels that provide more airflow to the dual oil coolers. The Lotus Exige prices are estimated to be in the $80,000 area, subject to how you want to customize your car.
