The all-new 2010 Corvette ZR1 LS9 motor generates 620 horsepower at 6500 rpm and 595 pound-feet of torque at 4000 rpm. With an output of 100 horsepower per liter, the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 is combined with a close-ratio six-speed manual gearbox plus a new high-capacity clutch made for the above average power. The twin-disc 260mm design offers an abundance of clamping power, while keeping a simple clutch movement

The road and performance numbers are not confirmed yet but GM officials state it can reach a top speed of 200 mph. When it comes to acceleration, the ZR1 convincingly overtakes the Z06, due largely to the 115-horsepower output increase. One can deduce from the performance of the Z06 going to 60 mph in only 3.6 seconds, it's a confident estimate that the ZR1 is going to be near 3.0 area.

Throughout the body of the ZR1, thorough usage of carbon fiber is utilized. The wider fenders are made of the material, as are the hood, roof panel, roof bow, front fascia splitter and rocker moldings.

A noticeable aspect of the hood is the evident polycarbonate "window" that displays the top of the engine's intercooler, and bragging rights showing off the imprinted "LS9 Supercharged" letters.

The 2010 638 hp ZR1 will run you $109,530; a rise of $2,910 more than last year's model. .
