Corvette grand sports cars

TThe Corvette model line adds the Grand Sport model for 2010 that's distinguished characterized by exterior design and a firmer suspension. The new Grand Sport will come as a coupe or convertible. The Grand Sport model utilizes the exact same 430-hp, 6.2-liter V-8 engine as the base Corvette, and is also available with a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission (optional). It substitutes the current out of production Z51 handling package and uses some Z51 hardware and parts from the Z06 too. The new corvette model features a steel frame and all-fiberglass body.

Chevrolet engineers claim the manual transmission and automatic transmission models have them performing zero-to-60-mph times near 4 seconds. The special five-spoke alloy wheels are 18 inches in front and 19 inches in the rear; the front wheels are 1-inch wider than the base Corvette’s and the back are 2-inches wider. The springs, shocks, and stabilizer bars have also been improved, and claims have it pulling 1.0 g around corners.
